In a manufacturing process that takes days, several layers of the finest Chinese lacquer are covered with golden-leaf metal. Skilled artisans handly place the pressures and sensitive material on the wet lacquer. After the surfaces have completely dried, several layers of clear lacquer are applied individually and polished over several hours with increasingly fine sanding cloths until the perfect deep shine is achieved. The drawers are also covered with leaf metal and rest on matt black legs. Applying the delicate metal leaves is a purely manual process, the authenticity of which is evident in fine irregularities and a slightly wrinkly surface.
